Minneapolis DFL Caucus & Convention Training
Thank you for being a member of our diverse Minneapolis DFL local party unit! We are an all-volunteer organization and the success of Caucus Night and our DFL conventions needs well-trained volunteers like you!
Help convene your local caucus
Minneapolis DFL is on track to host precinct caucus meetings in all 137 voting precincts across Minneapolis. We need enthusiastic volunteers, no matter if you have led a precinct caucus before! Sign up for trainings hosted virtually on Zoom.
Would you like to organize your Ward Convention?
Minneapolis DFL is organized into 13 Ward Committees, each of whom organize the local precinct caucuses and Ward Conventions in their wards. We need enthusiastic volunteers to be members of these ward committees. You can apply to fill vacancies and join your local Ward Committee. Applications for the current second round of appointments are due on February 23, 2025.

After-Training Resources
Caucus Night Convener Training (Google Slides)
This is the current version of the training from your virtual Zoom meeting. The training slides are being updated to answer new questions after each session.
Minnesota DFL Constitution, Bylaws, and Rulebook (PDF)
The state DFL constitution is the highest-ranking document governing caucus and conventions. This is the document that governs equal division by gender identity.
2024-2025 Minnesota DFL Official Call (PDF)
The state DFL official call is the rulebook for the caucus and convention process here in Minnesota. Note that since Minneapolis DFL is not an organizing unit, not all the dates and rules apply to our local city unit. But many rules do apply.
2025 Minneapolis DFL Official Call (PDF)
The city DFL official call is the local rulebook that answers the questions that the state official call leaves unanswered or does not make a firm decision on. For example, the city DFL call requires delegate and alternate names to be recorded in a Delegate Roster Book.
Minneapolis DFL Caucus Nonattendee Form (PDF)
This is the printable PDF file that campaigns and other organizations may use to gather hand-signed nonattendee forms. This form is also on the homepage of the Minneapolis DFL website. You are free and encouraged to download and distribute.
Save time on Caucus Night by preregistering with a nonattendee form
No matter if you do plan to attend on April 8 or if you can’t make it, there is benefit to completing an online nonattendee form before April 5. If you do attend in-person, then this saves time and helps confirm your caucus location. If you can’t attend, then this is a back-up that nominates you to be a delegate.
